What kinds of wood do I use?

I love simplicity of design and flow, and the beauty of the native wood. They help to create unique, custom furniture.

I work with the very best English native hardwoods. These are normally kiln dried, to withstand the modern environment of central heating.

The choice is normally from the following:

• Ash (if available)

• Beech - including spalted

• Bog Oak (difficult to find nowadays)

• Elm

• Oak

• Sweet Chestnut

• Sycamore - including figured or rippled - very pretty to look at

• Walnut

• Yew (if available)

Naturally, the wood must be suitable for the particular job; for example, strong enough to be load-bearing table legs.
